How do I... Make An Appointment?

For any minor ailments or illnesses that are urgent, every day we have a clinical team of nurse practitioners and a doctor who will see patients. These appointments are called "sit and wait" appointments and a time guide will be given to patients as we cannot guarantee being seen at a specific time. These sit and wait appointments are available from 8.00am.

To make a routine appointment for up to fourteen days in advance please ring 01992 450040 and select option 2 from 9.00am in the morning.

To Make An Appointment On Line

To make an appointment on line, firstly you need to come into the surgery and register for this service with one of our receptionists. You will be given a letter with a pin number which will then enable you to access appointments on line.

Patients Who Do Not Attend Appointments

Sometimes we do not have enough appointments and this is because a significant amount of patients do not turn up for their appointments. It is important that if you are unable to attend your appointment, you phone the surgery to let us know. We have a dedicated telephone line for cancelling appointments. If you select this option, please make sure you speak clearly and leave your details and date of birth on this recording.

How do I... Obtain Telephone Advice?

We appreciate there are times when you do not need to book a 10-minute appointment, when telephone advice will suffice. Hence there are opportunities every day Monday to Friday to call and speak to either a nurse practitioner if it is urgent or a doctor where appropriate. If you phone at a busy time you can leave a message with the receptionist and an arrangement will be made where you will be called back at some point by the nurse practitioner or the doctor.

How do I... Obtain A Home Visit?

If you are unable to come to the surgery due to disability, terminal illness or you are housebound and wish the doctor to visit you at home, please ring 01992 450040 before 10.30am. The on-call doctor will phone you back to discuss this further.

How do I... Obtain Test Results?

Please telephone the surgery between 2.00 – 4.00pm for test results.
Most tests take about five to seven days to come back from the hospital. However, x-rays require reporting from a radiologist and may take up to two weeks. All results are seen by a doctor. If results are normal, the receptionist will be able to tell you. In the event of any explanation being needed, you will be referred to the doctor. We must maintain CONFIDENTIALITY and therefore results will only be given to the patient.
